When I first started talking to Spencer about his proposal to his soon to be fiance Jen, it was a joy to feel the nerves and excitement right through the phone. Jen had been planning a trip to Vail, Colorado with her friends and Spencer thought this was a perfect opportunity to catch a flight to Denver and drive into the mountains to surprise her. Spencer is a baseball player, so his schedule is crazy, and she didn't suspect a thing. I worked with Spencer and Jen's sister to plan the whole thing out, including timing, location and calmed his nerves as the plans came to fruition.
Spencer and Jen met in college at Oregon State, and the rest is history. They both agreed "It was always you".
Spencer and I met up and finally got to the location where we decided to hide him a little bit, and I just pretended I was a stranger, which works almost every time ;). Spencer waited just over the hill for Jen to come running with a very surprised face. He got down on one knee, and she said yes! Sealing their love with a kiss and several hugs, we then went around the village and took some pictures.
It is an absolute joy to be able to capture people's incredible special, intimate moments. I never take it for granted.
